The room was quiet in the early morning when the tiny newborn baby monkey suddenly began to cry.
He was resting safely on a soft, warm blanket, but something seemed to be bothering him.
His little eyes opened wide as he looked around.
Mom wasn’t right beside him.
“Mama…”
A tiny sound came from his mouth.
He waited for a moment.
Still no Mom.
His lips began to tremble, and his little arms started reaching into the air.
Then his cry suddenly became louder.
“WAAAAAH!”
Mom heard him immediately from the nearby room.
“I’m coming, sweetheart!”
But the newborn didn’t know that.
He continued crying, making tiny distressed sounds while searching for the familiar person who always comforted him.
His little fingers curled and uncurled against the blanket.
When Mom finally appeared, his eyes immediately followed her.
“Oh, my poor baby.”
Mom quickly came closer and gently picked him up.
The newborn pressed his tiny face against her chest and continued making soft cries.
Mom carefully supported him and gently stroked his head.
“Mommy is here. You’re safe.”
His cries slowly became quieter.
His tiny fingers wrapped around Mom’s hand as though he didn’t want to let go.
Dad watched from nearby.
“He really wanted your attention.”
Mom smiled gently.
“I know. He’s still so little and everything is new to him.”
She continued holding him close while carefully watching his breathing and movements.
The newborn gradually relaxed against her.
His eyes became calmer.
Mom softly hummed a comforting tune.
“There you go, little one.”
The baby gave a tiny squeak and nestled closer.
After some time, he became sleepy.
Mom gently settled him into his warm, secure nest and stayed beside him.
She knew that if he ever showed concerning signs such as unusual shaking, stiffening, loss of responsiveness, difficulty breathing, or repeated seizure-like movements, he would need urgent veterinary or wildlife-professional attention rather than simply being comforted.
For now, the tiny baby was calm.
Mom gently placed her hand beside him.
“I’ll always listen when you need me.”
The newborn closed his eyes and drifted peacefully to sleep.
His heartbreaking cries had finally stopped.
The room became quiet again, leaving only the soft sound of his breathing and Mom’s reassuring presence beside him.
