The afternoon sun was shining brightly over the backyard when little Boo woke up from his nap.
The moment he opened his eyes, he knew something was wrong.
His tiny tummy was empty.
He looked around for Mom and immediately began calling for her.
“Mama! Mama!”
At first, his voice was soft.
But as the hunger grew, his little cries became louder and louder.
“WAAAAAAH!”
Boo sat on the soft mat in the backyard, waving his tiny arms and kicking his little feet.
His mouth opened wide as he cried with all his strength.
Mom heard him from inside the house.
“My goodness, Boo! Are you hungry?”
She hurried outside carrying his freshly prepared bottle.
The moment Boo saw it, his crying became even more dramatic.
He reached both tiny hands toward the bottle.
“Mmm… milk!”
Mom gently picked him up and settled him comfortably in her arms.
“Here you go, my hungry little boy.”
She carefully gave him his bottle.
Boo immediately began drinking eagerly.
Sip after sip, his desperate cries slowly disappeared.
His tiny fingers wrapped around the bottle while Mom supported him safely.
Dad watched from nearby and smiled.
“That was one very hungry baby.”
Mom laughed softly.
“He certainly made sure the whole neighborhood knew!”
Boo didn’t care.
He was too busy enjoying his milk.
Every few moments, he paused to look up at Mom with his big, grateful eyes before continuing to drink.
The warm afternoon breeze gently moved through the trees.
Birds chirped in the distance.
The backyard became peaceful again.
Once Boo had finished his bottle, he let out a tiny satisfied sigh.
His little body relaxed completely.
Mom gently rubbed his back and kissed his forehead.
“Much better?”
Boo gave a happy little squeak.
His earlier tears were completely gone.
He rested his head against Mom’s chest while she continued holding him.
Dad smiled.
“From the loudest baby in the backyard to the quietest one in just a few minutes.”
Mom chuckled.
“All he needed was a full tummy and a little love.”
Boo soon became sleepy.
His eyelids slowly closed as he listened to Mom’s gentle heartbeat.
The warm sunshine, the peaceful backyard, and the comforting embrace made him feel completely safe.
Mom softly whispered, “Whenever you’re hungry, sweetheart, Mommy will take care of you.”
Boo gave one final sleepy sigh before drifting peacefully to sleep in her arms.
The backyard was quiet once again.
The dramatic cries had disappeared, replaced by the soft breathing of a happy little monkey with a full tummy and a heart full of comfort.
