The morning was quiet when little Chaly woke up from a peaceful nap.

He slowly opened his sleepy eyes and looked around the room.

His tiny tummy felt empty.

He was hungry.

The first thing he wanted was his warm bottle of milk.

Chaly looked toward the table where Mom usually prepared his bottle.

But there was no milk.

Only an empty water bottle sat nearby.

His tiny face immediately became sad.

He stared at it for a few seconds, hoping something would change.

Nothing did.

Chaly’s little lips began to tremble.

“Mama…”

He reached both tiny arms toward Mom.

Mom was nearby preparing his bottle, but Chaly didn’t know that.

To him, the wait felt endless.

His eyes filled with tears.

“Waaaah…”

The quiet whimper quickly became a heartbreaking cry.

He looked at Mom again and stretched his little hands toward her.

“Milk…”

His expression seemed to say, “Mommy, please give me my milk.”

Mom hurried over and gently picked him up.

“Oh, my sweet Chaly. I know you’re hungry.”

Chaly buried his face against her shoulder.

His tiny body trembled as he cried.

Mom gently rubbed his back.

“I’m preparing your bottle right now. You won’t have to wait much longer.”

Chaly looked up at her with watery eyes.

He seemed worried that there wouldn’t be any milk.

Mom smiled reassuringly.

“Don’t worry, sweetheart. Mommy has you.”

She carefully prepared his appropriate milk and checked that it was safe before offering it to him.

The moment Chaly saw the bottle, his crying stopped.

His eyes became wide with relief.

Mom gently held him close while he drank.

Sip.

Sip.

Sip.

With every swallow, his sad expression disappeared.

His tiny hands relaxed around Mom’s shirt.

Dad walked into the room and smiled.

“Someone looks much happier now.”

Mom laughed softly.

“He was just very hungry.”

After finishing his bottle, Chaly gave a tiny satisfied sigh.

His little tummy was finally comfortable.

He rested his head against Mom’s chest and listened to her heartbeat.

Mom kissed his forehead.

“I’m sorry you had to wait, my precious boy.”

Chaly responded with a tiny happy squeak.

Soon, his eyelids became heavy.

Mom gently rocked him while whispering,

“Whenever you’re hungry, Mommy will take care of you.”

Chaly peacefully drifted to sleep in her loving arms.

The heartbreaking cries from earlier had disappeared, replaced by calm breathing and a tiny, contented smile.

For little Chaly, the empty water bottle had seemed like the saddest thing in the world.

But once Mom arrived with his warm milk and comforting embrace, everything felt right again.
