It was a busy morning at home, and Mom had plenty of things to finish.
She was folding clean clothes, preparing bottles, and organizing the little nursery.
Nearby, baby Max sat on a soft blanket, watching everything she did.
At first, he was perfectly happy.
He played with his favorite little toy and occasionally looked up at Mom.
But after a while, Max wanted something else.
He wanted Mommy’s attention.
He crawled toward her and reached up with both tiny arms.
“Mommy…”
Mom smiled.
“Just a little longer, sweetheart. Mommy needs to finish this.”
Max didn’t like that answer.
He stared at her with wide eyes.
Then his little lips began to tremble.
“Eee… eee…”
Mom continued folding the clothes.
Suddenly—
“WAAAAAH!”
Max burst into loud, emotional cries.
He sat on the floor, kicked his tiny feet, and waved both arms dramatically.
Mom turned around.
“Oh, my goodness, Max!”
The little monkey looked extremely angry.
He wanted Mom to stop working immediately.
She tried giving him his favorite toy.
Max pushed it away.
She offered his blanket.
He turned his head.
Nothing could make him happy.
He simply wanted to be held.
Mom finally knelt beside him.
“I know you’re upset because Mommy is busy.”
Max continued crying, but his eyes stayed fixed on her.
Mom gently held his little hands.
“Mommy hasn’t forgotten you. I just have a few things to finish.”
Max sniffled.
His angry expression slowly softened.
Mom picked him up and gave him a warm cuddle.
The moment he rested against her chest, his loud cries became quieter.
“There you are,” Mom whispered.
“You just needed to know Mommy was still here.”
Max wrapped his tiny arms around her neck.
Dad walked into the room and smiled.
“I think someone has officially complained about Mommy working too much.”
Mom laughed softly.
“He’s my little supervisor.”
Max gave a tiny squeak, almost as if he agreed.
After a few minutes of cuddling, Mom placed him safely beside her with a favorite toy.
This time, Max was calmer.
He watched Mom finish her work while occasionally reaching out for a little touch.
Mom would gently stroke his head whenever she passed.
That was enough.
Soon, Max began playing happily by himself.
The angry tears disappeared, replaced by curious little smiles.
When Mom finally finished her chores, she sat down beside him.
“All done!”
Max immediately crawled into her lap.
Mom hugged him tightly.
“You waited so patiently.”
Max rested his head against her chest and gave a tiny satisfied sigh.
After drinking his warm milk, his eyelids became heavy.
Mom gently rocked him while whispering,
“Even when Mommy is busy, you are always in my heart.”
Max closed his eyes and drifted peacefully to sleep.
Mom smiled down at him.
She knew there would be many more dramatic moments as Max grew up.
But she also knew that patience, reassurance, and a little extra affection could turn even the biggest tantrum into the sweetest cuddle.
And for little Max, that warm hug from Mommy was all he had wanted from the very beginning.
