Bad-Tempered Selena Cries and Refuses to Take Her Morning Bath

The sun had just begun to rise, filling the backyard with soft golden light as Mom prepared the little bathing tub.

The warm water was ready.

A fluffy towel lay neatly on the chair.

Fresh clothes and a warm bottle of milk waited nearby.

Everything was prepared for Selena’s morning bath.

But little Selena had other plans.

The moment Mom picked her up and carried her toward the tub, Selena frowned.

She folded her tiny arms across her chest and shook her head.

“No!”

Although she couldn’t speak real words yet, her expression made her feelings perfectly clear.

She didn’t want a bath.

Not today.

Mom smiled patiently.

“Come on, sweetheart. The water is nice and warm.”

Selena looked at the tub for only a second before turning her face away.

Her tiny lips began to tremble.

Then…

“WAAAAAH!”

A loud cry echoed across the yard.

She kicked her little feet and stretched both arms toward Dad, hoping someone would rescue her from bath time.

Dad chuckled softly.

“Our little princess woke up on the grumpy side today.”

Mom gently hugged Selena close.

“It’s alright. We’ll take our time.”

She carefully dipped one of Selena’s tiny feet into the warm water.

Selena quickly pulled it back and cried even louder.

Tiny tears rolled down her fluffy cheeks as she buried her face against Mom’s shoulder.

She refused to even look at the tub.

Mom didn’t force her.

Instead, she sat beside the bath with Selena safely in her lap.

She gently rubbed her soft back while humming her favorite lullaby.

Slowly, Selena’s loud sobs became quiet sniffles.

Just then, Ronaldo happily ran over carrying a little yellow rubber duck.

He was already enjoying his own bath and wanted to share his favorite toy with his sister.

He gently placed the duck into Selena’s tiny hands.

Selena looked at it through watery eyes.

She squeezed the soft toy.

It made a funny squeaking sound.

For the first time that morning…

She giggled.

Mom smiled.

“There’s my happy girl.”

Very slowly, Mom lowered Selena’s feet into the warm water again.

This time, Selena didn’t pull away.

The water felt cozy.

It wasn’t scary after all.

Soon, she was sitting beside Ronaldo in the little tub.

The twins splashed gently together, chasing the floating duck around the water while laughing happily.

Dad laughed too.

“I knew that smile would come back.”

Mom gently washed Selena’s tiny hands, little feet, and soft fur while the grumpy mood completely disappeared.

After the bath, Mom wrapped Selena in a warm, fluffy towel and gave her a big cuddle.

She kissed her forehead and whispered,

“My stubborn little girl, sometimes the things we don’t want to do become the most fun.”

Selena rested her sleepy head against Mom’s shoulder while drinking her warm bottle of milk.

Her tiny tummy became full.

Her eyelids slowly grew heavy.

Within minutes, she drifted peacefully to sleep in Mom’s loving arms.

Looking down at her sleeping daughter, Mom smiled warmly.

Every morning doesn’t begin with smiles.

Sometimes it begins with tears, tiny tantrums, and stubborn little hearts.

But with gentle patience, warm hugs, and endless love, even the grumpiest mornings can end with laughter, comfort, and peaceful dreams.

And for little Selena, there was no better place to forget her morning tantrum than safely wrapped in Mommy’s warm embrace.
