The warm morning sunshine lit up the backyard as Mom prepared the little bathing tub for the twins.
The water was warm, a soft towel was folded neatly nearby, and two clean outfits waited on a chair.
It was bath time for Selena and her twin brother, Ronaldo.
Ronaldo bounced happily toward the tub.
He loved splashing in the water and couldn’t wait to play.
He clapped his tiny hands and let out cheerful little squeaks as Mom gently lowered him into the warm bath.
But Selena felt very differently.
The moment she saw the tub, her happy face disappeared.
She folded her tiny arms across her chest and sat stubbornly on the grass.
Mom smiled gently.
“Come on, Selena. Your brother is already waiting.”
Selena turned her head away.
She wasn’t interested.
Mom picked her up carefully and carried her toward the tub.
The instant Selena’s tiny feet touched the warm water, she pulled them back and let out a loud protest.
“WAAAAAH!”
Her cries echoed through the yard.
She kicked her little legs, waved her tiny arms, and buried her face against Mom’s shoulder.
Ronaldo looked over from the tub with a puzzled expression.
He happily splashed the water, trying to show his sister how much fun it was.
A few tiny drops landed near Selena.
Instead of making her laugh, they made her even grumpier.
She frowned dramatically and cried even louder.
Dad couldn’t help smiling.
“Our little princess isn’t in the mood today.”
Mom gently rubbed Selena’s back.
“It’s okay, sweetheart. We’ll go slowly.”
She sat beside the tub, keeping Selena safely in her arms while letting her watch Ronaldo play.
Ronaldo floated his little rubber duck across the water, giggling every time it bobbed back toward him.
Then he picked it up and reached toward his sister.
It was his way of inviting her to join.
Selena stopped crying for just a moment.
She looked at the little duck.
Then at Ronaldo’s happy face.
Her loud sobs softened into quiet sniffles.
Mom smiled.
“See? Your brother wants to share.”
Very carefully, Mom let Selena dip one tiny foot into the warm water again.
This time, she didn’t pull it away.
The water wasn’t scary after all.
Ronaldo clapped excitedly and splashed gently, making tiny ripples instead of big splashes.
Selena watched closely.
A tiny smile slowly appeared.
Mom gently lowered her into the tub beside her brother while keeping one comforting hand around her.
For a moment, Selena looked uncertain.
Then Ronaldo nudged the rubber duck toward her.
She picked it up with both tiny hands.
A soft giggle escaped her lips.
Dad laughed.
“There she is!”
Within minutes, the twins were happily splashing together, chasing the floating duck around the tub.
The dramatic tantrum had completely disappeared.
After the bath, Mom wrapped both babies in fluffy towels and cuddled them close.
Selena rested her sleepy head on Mom’s shoulder while Ronaldo leaned against her other side.
Both little tummies were soon filled with warm milk, and their eyelids grew heavy.
As they drifted peacefully to sleep together, Mom smiled lovingly.
Some mornings begin with tears.
Some begin with stubborn little tantrums.
But with patience, gentle encouragement, and the love of family, even the grumpiest hearts can discover joy.
That day, Selena learned that bath time wasn’t so bad after all—especially when her cheerful twin brother Ronaldo was there to make her smile.
