The first rays of morning sunlight filled the nursery as the tiny newborn baby monkey slowly opened his sleepy eyes.
For a moment, everything was peaceful.
Then his tiny tummy began to rumble.
He knew exactly what that meant.
It was milk time.
The little newborn looked around his cozy bed, expecting Mom to appear with his warm bottle as she always did.
But this morning, she wasn’t there yet.
The baby blinked in confusion.
He waited a few more seconds.
Still no Mom.
His tiny lips began to quiver.
Then came a soft cry.
“Eee… eee…”
When no one arrived, the little cries quickly became loud, emotional screams.
“WAAAAAH! WAAAAAH!”
Tears rolled down his fluffy cheeks as he waved his tiny arms and kicked his little feet in the air.
His whole body trembled with hunger.
To the newborn, every second felt like forever.
Just outside the room, Mom was carefully mixing his formula.
She wanted to make sure the milk was the perfect temperature so it wouldn’t be too hot or too cold.
“I know you’re hungry, sweetheart,” she said softly while shaking the bottle. “I’m coming.”
But the newborn couldn’t hear her gentle voice.
All he knew was that his tummy was empty.
His cries became even louder.
Dad hurried into the nursery and gently stroked the baby’s tiny head.
“It’s okay, little one. Mommy is almost here.”
The newborn looked at Dad with watery eyes.
For a brief moment, he became quiet.
Then he looked toward the doorway again.
No bottle.
“WAAAAAH!”
He cried harder than before, his little face turning bright red.
Dad smiled kindly.
“Someone is very hungry today.”
Just then, Mom rushed into the room carrying the warm bottle.
“My precious baby!”
The instant the newborn saw the bottle, his loud screams suddenly stopped.
His tear-filled eyes became wide with excitement.
He stretched both tiny hands toward Mom.
“There you are,” Mom whispered lovingly.
She gently lifted him into her arms and cradled him close against her chest.
The newborn eagerly wrapped his tiny fingers around the bottle as Mom carefully helped him drink.
Sip.
Sip.
Sip.
With every swallow, his little body relaxed.
The angry cries disappeared.
The worried expression on his tiny face slowly turned into peaceful contentment.
Dad chuckled softly.
“Only a minute ago, he sounded like the whole house was falling apart.”
Mom laughed.
“Now he’s the happiest baby in the world.”
When the bottle was finally empty, the newborn let out the tiniest satisfied sigh.
His full tummy felt warm and comfortable.
He rested his little head against Mom’s shoulder while she gently rubbed his back.
Soon, his eyelids became heavy.
Mom softly kissed his forehead.
“I’m sorry you had to wait, my sweet little one.”
The newborn snuggled even closer, knowing he was safe in her loving embrace.
Within moments, he drifted peacefully to sleep.
Dad tucked a soft blanket around the sleepy baby and smiled warmly.
“His cries weren’t because he was angry with you,” Dad said quietly.
“They were simply the voice of a tiny heart that trusted Mommy would always come.”
Mom looked down at the sleeping newborn with love shining in her eyes.
“No matter how loudly he cries,” she whispered, “I’ll always be here to comfort him.”
And in the warmth of Mom’s arms, with a full tummy and a peaceful heart, the little newborn dreamed happily, surrounded by endless love, gentle care, and the comforting promise that Mommy would always come when he needed her most.
