One rainy morning, Dad heard a faint crying sound coming from the bushes near the house. Curious and worried, he followed the tiny cries until he discovered a newborn kitten lying alone on the wet ground.
The little kitten was cold, hungry, and trembling. Its eyes were still closed, and it was far too young to survive on its own.
Dad gently picked up the tiny kitten and carried it home.
Watching everything from the doorway was baby monkey Junbi.
Junbi tilted his head with curiosity as he looked at the tiny bundle wrapped in a towel. He had never seen such a small kitten before.
Dad prepared a warm blanket and a bottle of kitten formula. As he carefully fed the orphaned kitten, Junbi sat quietly beside him, watching every movement with wide eyes.
When feeding time was over, Dad placed the sleepy kitten into its small bed.
To everyone’s surprise, Junbi carefully pulled the blanket closer to the kitten with his tiny hands.
It was as if he understood the baby was cold.
From that day on, Junbi became Dad’s little helper.
Every morning, Junbi would hurry to check on the kitten before eating his own breakfast. If the kitten cried, Junbi would run to find Dad and tug gently on his shirt.
During feeding time, Junbi loved sitting nearby, holding the bottle with both hands while Dad guided it toward the kitten’s mouth.
The tiny kitten slowly grew stronger.
Its cries became softer, and soon it started opening its eyes for the very first time.
Junbi seemed especially proud.
Whenever the kitten crawled out of its bed, Junbi carefully stayed close behind as if acting as its bodyguard.
Sometimes the kitten would fall asleep while resting against Junbi’s soft fur.
Those moments melted Dad’s heart.
Weeks passed, and the once-fragile kitten transformed into a playful little companion who loved chasing Junbi around the house.
The two unlikely friends became inseparable.
Although Junbi was only a baby monkey himself, he showed kindness, patience, and love beyond his years.
Dad smiled as he watched them play together in the afternoon sunshine.
The poor orphaned kitten had found a family.
And Junbi had discovered something wonderful too.
Helping someone smaller and weaker than yourself can create the biggest happiness of all.
