Jasmine Doesn’t Want to Wait

Little Jasmine was feeling very impatient today.

The tiny baby monkey was waiting for her milk, and Mom had asked her to stay in the room for just a little while.

But Jasmine didn’t like that idea at all.

At first, she sat quietly.

A few seconds passed.

Then she looked toward the door.

Where was Mom?

Where was the milk?

A tiny pout appeared.

Then—

A much bigger pout.

“Eeeehhh!”

Jasmine started making unhappy little sounds while waiting all by herself.

The longer she waited, the more upset she became.

Soon—

“AHHHHH!”

The emotional little monkey burst into loud cries.

Tiny hands waved dramatically.

Little feet kicked against the floor.

Poor Jasmine felt like the milk was taking forever to arrive.

“MAMAAA!”

She called out loudly, hoping Mom would hurry back.

No toys seemed fun.

No distractions worked.

The tiny baby only wanted Mom and her milk.

Finally—

Mom returned with a warm bottle ready.

The moment Jasmine saw her, the crying slowed.

Hope filled her eyes.

Mom gently picked her up and held her close.

Instant comfort.

The loud sobs became tiny sniffles.

The pout slowly disappeared.

And soon, Jasmine was peacefully enjoying her milk while cuddled safely in Mom’s arms.

Because for a hungry little baby, waiting even a few minutes can feel like the longest time in the world.
