The room felt unusually quiet.
Little baby monkey Ricky sat alone, his tiny body curled slightly as he waited. The playful energy he usually had was gone, replaced by a soft, sad stillness.
Mom wasn’t there.
Ricky looked around slowly, his big eyes searching every corner of the room. He hoped to see her walk back in at any moment.
But she didn’t.
“Eee…”
A soft moaning sound came from his tiny mouth.
It wasn’t a loud cry—just a weak, sad call. The kind that showed he was feeling lonely and unsure.
Ricky shifted slightly, his small hands resting on the floor. He didn’t run or play. He just waited.
Every sound made him look up.
Maybe it was Mom?
But each time, it wasn’t her.
Another soft sound escaped him.
“Eee… eee…”
The little monkey lowered his head for a moment, looking tired and disappointed. Without Mom nearby, everything felt empty.
Time passed slowly.
Ricky stayed in the same spot, quietly hoping.
Then suddenly—
A small sound came from the doorway.
Ricky quickly lifted his head.
His eyes widened.
Mom was back.
In an instant, Ricky’s whole body came alive. The sadness disappeared as he let out a louder, happier sound and moved toward her.
Mom walked over and gently picked him up.
The moment he was in her arms, Ricky held on tightly. The soft moaning was gone, replaced by calm breathing and comfort.
Now safe again, the little monkey rested quietly.
For Ricky, even a short moment without Mom felt long and lonely—but her return made everything okay again.
