It was another lazy afternoon in the house, and baby monkey Minea was already in one of her moods. She sat on the couch with her arms crossed, her toy banana tossed aside. Dad was nearby, fixing a broken chair, but Minea wanted all the attention on her.
“Ee-ee-eee!” Minea started squealing, her tiny voice cutting through the quiet room. Dad glanced over, raising an eyebrow. “What’s the matter now, Minea?”
But instead of calming down, Minea upped the drama. She arched her tiny body backward, kicking her legs and letting out another loud scream. Then, mid-scream, she let out the biggest yawn anyone had ever seen.
Dad froze, staring at her in disbelief. Minea’s mouth was wide open in a dramatic yawn, but she was still trying to scream at the same time. The result was a hilarious combination of squeaky sounds and exaggerated expressions.
“Ohhhh noooo, Minea!” Dad exclaimed, bursting into laughter. “What on earth are you doing?”
Minea, realizing she’d caught Dad’s attention, continued her performance. She yawned again, louder this time, adding an extra kick of her feet for effect. Her little face scrunched up in mock frustration, making her look even more ridiculous.
By now, Dad was laughing so hard he had to sit down. “You’re something else, Minea,” he said, wiping away tears of laughter. “How can you be nasty and adorable at the same time?”
Satisfied that her antics had worked, Minea sat up straight, a sly grin spreading across her face. She grabbed her toy banana, acting as though nothing had happened.
But Dad knew better. “You’re a little actress, Minea,” he chuckled, shaking his head. “And you always know how to steal the show.”
