Little Selena was sitting nearby while Mom was holding Ronaldo in her arms. Ronaldo looked comfortable and happy, enjoying the warm hug.
But Selena noticed something that made her very upset.
Mom was hugging only Ronaldo.
At first, Selena just watched quietly. Her small face slowly changed as she stared at them. The more she looked, the more jealous and angry she began to feel.
Then suddenly—
“EEEEEE!”
Tiny Selena shouted loudly.
Her sharp cry filled the room as she waved her little arms in frustration. She stomped her tiny feet and looked straight at Mom, clearly unhappy that she wasn’t being hugged too.
Selena screamed again and again.
“Eeeee! Eeee!”
Her small body shook with emotion while she demanded attention. The jealous little monkey didn’t want to be left out.
She stretched her tiny hands toward Mom, trying to show that she wanted a hug too.
Mom quickly noticed Selena’s angry crying.
With a gentle smile, she reached down and picked Selena up as well. Now both babies were close together in Mom’s arms.
The moment Selena felt the warm hug, her loud shouting slowly stopped.
Her angry face softened, and she leaned against Mom while sitting beside Ronaldo.
Sometimes little Selena just needs reassurance that Mom’s love is for both of them. Once she felt that comfort, the jealous tantrum disappeared.
