Little Ronaldo was playing on the ground while Mom prepared to go somewhere. When everything was ready, Mom walked over and gently reached out to pick him up so he could go along.
But Ronaldo suddenly didn’t want that.
The moment Mom’s hands came close, his face quickly changed. His eyebrows tightened and his lips pushed forward in a dramatic pout.
Then—
“Eeeee!”
Ronaldo started shouting loudly.
He twisted his body and pushed his tiny hands against Mom’s arms, trying to stop her from lifting him. The stubborn little monkey shook his head again and again, clearly rejecting the idea of being picked up.
“Eeeee! Eeee!”
His dramatic cry filled the room as he stomped his little feet and leaned away. It looked like he had decided he wanted to stay exactly where he was.
Mom tried gently again.
But Ronaldo made an even bigger scene. He wiggled, squirmed, and cried loudly like he was protesting the whole plan.
It was a full dramatic refusal.
Mom paused for a moment and spoke softly to calm him down. After a little time, Ronaldo’s loud cries slowly became quieter sniffles.
Once he relaxed, Mom gently lifted him again.
This time he didn’t fight as much. He held onto her shoulder, still looking a bit grumpy but no longer shouting.
Sometimes little Ronaldo just wants things his own way—even when Mom is simply trying to take him along.
