Selena’s Angry Tears on the Cold Floor

Comments Off on Selena’s Angry Tears on the Cold Floor

Selena was already moody before the moment happened. Her tiny brows were knitted together, her body stiff with feelings she didn’t know how to name. When mom gently set her down on the floor, Selena’s heart cracked. To her, it felt like being pushed away, forgotten in a second that hurt too much.

She cried instantly, a sharp, angry cry that filled the room. Tears spilled fast as she slapped the floor with her small hands, red face shaking with rage and sadness mixed together. She didn’t want the floor. She wanted arms. She wanted closeness. Being dropped down felt unfair and frightening.

Selena screamed louder, rolling slightly, then sitting up again, voice breaking as she called for mom. Each cry sounded like a protest, a demand, and a plea all at once. Her chest heaved. Her fists clenched. Big emotions crashed through her tiny body with no place to go.

Mom watched closely, knowing this storm needed patience, not punishment. She knelt nearby, speaking softly, letting Selena feel seen without rushing. Still, Selena cried harder, crawling forward, then stopping, unsure, conflicted between anger and longing.

Finally, mom opened her arms. Selena froze for half a second, pride battling need. Then she lunged forward, burying her face into mom’s chest. The crying didn’t stop right away. It poured out, slower now, turning into sobs as her body relaxed.

Held tightly, Selena’s anger melted. Her breathing steadied. Tears soaked into fabric instead of the floor. What felt like rejection became reassurance again.

Selena wasn’t naughty. She was overwhelmed. Being set down felt like losing love, even for a moment. In mom’s arms, she learned something important: feelings can be big, but comfort can be bigger, and love always comes back. Today she rests, safe, understood, held, warmer, calmer, trusting, learning, slowly.
