Hungry Amo Begs for Banana

Amo was usually a playful little boy—full of energy, hopping from chair to basket, always curious. But today was different. His tiny stomach rumbled for food, and everyone could see it in the way he moved. He sat quietly near the fruit basket, eyes fixed only on one thing—the bright yellow banana he loved more than anything. His little lips trembled, fingers reaching out slowly as if he could pull it closer with sheer hope alone.

He whimpered softly at first, but when mom didn’t notice right away, his voice cracked into a pitiful cry. His eyes glistened, wide and pleading, like a child asking for comfort. Amo wasn’t throwing a tantrum—he was simply hungry and honest about it. He crawled closer, pressing his cheek against mom’s leg as if to say, “Mommy, please… just one bite.”

Mom finally looked down and saw the sadness in his face. His head lowered, ears back, making himself appear even smaller. It was impossible to resist. She peeled the banana slowly, and the moment the sweet smell reached Amo, his eyes lit up like sunrise. He stood on his tiny feet, bouncing, tail shaking with excitement.

Mom offered him a small piece first. He grabbed it carefully, chewing with joy, cheeks puffed like a tiny squirrel. The sadness disappeared instantly—replaced with pure happiness. Each bite made a tiny humming sound, the kind babies make when comfort finally arrives.

Soon, he had banana on his nose, on his hands, even on his eyebrows, but his smile never faded. Mom laughed softly, watching him eat as if it were the most precious moment. When Amo finished, he leaned into her arms with a satisfied sigh.

Hunger was gone. Love, warmth, and banana—Amo had everything he needed.
