The tiny baby monkey sat on the wooden table, wrapped in a thin cloth, still blinking sleep from his eyes. He had been waiting patiently—or at least trying to—for his warm bottle of milk. For him, milk wasn’t just food; it was comfort, safety, and the one thing that always calmed his little world.
But today, as he reached for the bottle Daddy placed beside him, something was terribly wrong. The bottle felt light… too light. He shook it with his tiny hands, and the sound was completely empty. No warm milk. No drops. Nothing.
At first, he stared at it with confusion, his small eyebrows tightening as if the bottle itself had betrayed him. Then, the frustration hit. His lips trembled, his little belly tightened, and suddenly a loud cry burst from him—a heartbroken, furious scream that filled the whole room.
He threw his head back, kicking his legs with all his strength. The empty bottle rolled away, but he didn’t want it anymore. He wanted milk. He wanted comfort. He wanted the warm feeling he always expected when he held that bottle close.
Dad rushed back into the room, shocked by the sudden explosion of anger. “Oh no… baby, baby, wait! Daddy’s not done mixing it yet,” he said, picking up the bottle and checking it again. The baby monkey didn’t care. He screamed louder, reaching out with both hands, tears sliding down his tiny face.
He wasn’t just hungry—he felt desperate. A baby his size couldn’t understand delays or reasons. All he knew was that he needed his bottle, and it wasn’t ready. That was enough to break his little heart.
Dad tried soothing him with gentle strokes on the back, but anger kept bubbling out in loud cries. The baby pushed his face into Daddy’s hand, begging, pleading in his own tiny voice. His cries grew softer only when he saw Dad rushing quickly to prepare the fresh milk.
When Dad finally returned with the warm bottle, the baby instantly grabbed it with shaking hands. He latched on desperately, drinking fast, as if afraid it would disappear again.
Slowly, the anger melted. His breathing settled. His body relaxed. The world became safe once more.
All it took was that first, warm sip.
