Meet Rocky — the most dramatic, moody, and adorably disrespectful little monkey in the whole family. From the moment the camera turns on or someone calls his name, he does exactly what he’s not supposed to — turns his back, hides his face, and refuses to look at anyone.
This morning was no different. Daddy called softly, “Rocky, come say hi!” But instead of coming closer, Rocky folded his arms, puffed his cheeks, and turned away with a sharp little “Eee!” of protest. When Daddy moved to pick him up, he ducked behind the curtain, only his tiny tail poking out.
“Rocky, don’t be naughty,” Daddy chuckled. But Rocky wasn’t being naughty — he was being Rocky. His eyes peeked out for a moment, watching carefully to make sure no one was too close. If anyone even tried to touch him, he’d squeak, flap his hands, and hide his face again.
The truth was, Rocky wasn’t mean — he was shy. He didn’t like too much attention. When he felt overwhelmed, he acted tough to protect his tiny heart.
Later that afternoon, Daddy sat quietly nearby with a banana in his hand. “You don’t have to come out, buddy,” he said softly. Within minutes, a small furry hand slowly reached from behind the curtain and took the banana. Then another — this time, Rocky’s whole little face peeked out, eyes shy but curious.
Daddy smiled warmly. “There’s my boy.”
Rocky munched quietly, his earlier attitude gone. He wasn’t the rude monkey everyone thought — he just wanted to be loved on his own terms.
And when Daddy finally stroked his head gently, Rocky didn’t hide this time. He sighed softly, eyes half-closed, letting the moment melt his tiny stubborn heart.
