Tears and Trembles By Mom Says No More Milk

The late afternoon sun filtered softly through the leaves as a heartbreaking scene unfolded beneath the trees. A little baby monkey named Luma lay on the ground, trembling with frustration and sadness. Her cries were sharp, desperate, and full of confusion.

Mom had decided to start weaning — no more milk, no more long cuddles while nursing. It was time for Luma to eat soft fruits and leaves like the other young ones. But to Luma, the world suddenly felt unfair. She didn’t understand why the warm comfort she loved was being taken away.

“Eee! Eee! EEEE!” she screamed, kicking her little legs and pounding the earth with her tiny fists. Her whole body shook, a mixture of anger, fear, and exhaustion. The grass around her rustled as she rolled slightly, letting out small, broken sobs.

Mom sat nearby, watching with patient but heavy eyes. She wanted to go to her — every instinct told her to — but she knew this moment was necessary. Luma had to learn, even if it broke both their hearts.

When the little one’s cries grew weaker, Mom slowly approached. She didn’t offer milk, but she reached out her hand and stroked Luma’s back gently. The touch was warm and familiar, a silent promise that love hadn’t gone anywhere.

Luma hiccuped, her cries fading into soft whimpers as she buried her face against Mom’s leg. She was still upset, but she was no longer alone.

Mom leaned down, grooming her tiny head tenderly, her eyes filled with quiet love.

The milk might be gone, but the bond between them — strong, gentle, and eternal — would never fade. And as the forest fell silent again, Luma finally drifted into sleep, safe in her mother’s care.
