The morning was peaceful until one very tiny voice broke the silence — “Eee! Eee! EEEEE!” Baby Kobie’s cries filled the whole room, echoing like a siren of impatience.
Mom had just finished cleaning her old diaper, carefully wiping her tiny bottom with warm water and soft cotton. But the moment Mom stepped away to grab a clean one, Kobie thought the world had ended.
Her little face turned red, her mouth wide open, and her arms reached up desperately. “Eeee!” she wailed, kicking her legs in protest. The soft blanket rustled under her as she twisted and turned, making sure everyone knew how unhappy she was about waiting even one second longer.
Mom peeked over her shoulder with a smile, holding the clean diaper. “Alright, alright, little miss drama,” she said sweetly. “I’m not going anywhere.”
But Kobie wasn’t convinced. She kept crying louder, her voice rising and falling like a tiny melody of frustration. Her tail twitched, her tiny fists clenched — she wanted her mom’s hands back now.
When Mom finally returned and gently lifted her up, Kobie instantly went quiet. She sniffled softly, hiccupping between small sighs as she buried her face against Mom’s chest. The warmth, the scent, the heartbeat — it was all she needed.
Mom chuckled, wrapping the fresh diaper snugly around her baby’s tiny waist. “See? All better now,” she whispered. Kobie blinked sleepily, her cries fading into soft coos as she melted into her mother’s arms.
Within minutes, her eyes closed completely, peace replacing all her earlier anger.
The room returned to quiet — only the sound of gentle breathing and one happy little monkey cuddled safe and clean in Mommy’s love.
