Smart Brother Koko Helps Mom Care for Yoko’s Bruise

Little Yoko had been restless all morning. While playing, she slipped and bumped herself, leaving a small bruise on her leg. She sat on the mat, pouting with watery eyes, refusing to move. Mom quickly brought medicine to soothe the sore spot, but before she could start, Koko—Yoko’s clever older brother—stepped in to help.

Koko had always been a curious and observant little monkey. Watching Mom care for Yoko, he tilted his head and studied every move. Gently, he reached out his tiny hand, as if asking Mom to let him try. Mom smiled softly, sensing Koko’s eagerness. She gave him a dab of the cream, guiding his hand toward Yoko’s bruise.

At first, Yoko whimpered and tried to push him away, but Koko leaned close, chattering softly as if saying, “Don’t worry, little sister, I’ll make it better.” With great care, he patted the medicine on her bruise, his small fingers surprisingly gentle. Mom watched with pride, her heart warming at the sight of Koko’s protective nature.

Yoko blinked at her brother, her cries slowly turning into sniffles. She stopped resisting and let Koko finish the job. Once he was done, Koko patted her arm and gave a playful little squeak, trying to cheer her up.

Soon, Yoko managed a shy smile. She leaned against Koko, comforted not only by the medicine but by her brother’s love. Mom stroked both of their heads, feeling blessed to see such a bond between her children.

Koko might still be a little monkey himself, but in that moment, he acted with the heart of a big brother—smart, caring, and full of love.
