Bella, a tiny baby monkey with big curious eyes and soft brown fur, lived in a cozy home with her human family. She wasn’t a wild jungle monkey—she was a beloved pet who slept in a warm bed, wore a little sweater, and had a basket full of toys.
Every morning, Bella’s favorite moment came when her human mom brought her fresh fruit—especially bananas, mango slices, and strawberries. But Bella would get so excited, she’d jump around, squeal, and try to grab the fruit too fast.
One day, as Mom set down a bowl of fruit, Bella nearly knocked it over with her eager little hands.
“Bella,” Mom said gently, kneeling beside her. “You have to be calm before you eat. Take a deep breath and sit still. You’ll enjoy it more, and you won’t make a mess.”
Bella tilted her head, confused. But she saw Mom sitting calmly and smiling. She took a deep monkey breath—in through her tiny nose, out through her mouth—and sat down, her tail twitching gently.
Mom handed her a piece of banana. Bella took it slowly, without grabbing, and gave a happy squeak as she tasted the sweet fruit.
From that day on, before every fruit snack, Mom would remind Bella: “Be calm first.”
And slowly, Bella learned. No more spilling bowls or sticky fingers everywhere. She even waited patiently for fruit when guests came to visit—earning claps and gentle pats on the head.
Bella may not have lived in the jungle, but just like a wild monkey, she learned the power of patience—and the sweetness that comes with it.
