Rescued Baby Monkey with Broken Right Hand

Early this morning, a local villager spotted a tiny baby monkey sitting alone by the roadside, trembling and in clear pain. The poor little one, later named Nilo, had a badly injured right hand—swollen, limp, and unable to move. His fur was dusty, and his big eyes were filled with confusion and fear. It appeared he had fallen from a high tree or had been attacked by another animal while separated from his mother.

The rescue team was quickly contacted, and they rushed to the scene. Nilo was scared at first, trying to crawl away with only one working hand. But exhaustion and pain quickly slowed him down. When the rescuer finally scooped him up gently, Nilo whimpered softly but didn’t resist.

At the animal care center, a vet carefully examined him. His right hand was indeed broken, likely a fracture in the small bones of his wrist. Though painful, the injury was treatable. Nilo was cleaned up, given pain medicine, and his tiny arm was wrapped gently in a soft, protective bandage. He kept looking around for his mother, crying quietly—but comforted a little when one of the caretakers softly hummed to him.

Now safe and warm in a cozy little basket, Nilo is getting lots of rest and love. His appetite has returned—especially for mashed bananas—and he’s already showing signs of trusting his human helpers. It will take time for his hand to heal, but the most important thing is that he’s no longer alone or in danger.

Nilo’s journey to recovery has just begun, and with care, patience, and love, he’ll grow strong again—maybe even strong enough to climb trees someday, with both hands reaching high into the sky
