Lyka’s Kitchen Meltdown

Comments Off on Lyka’s Kitchen Meltdown

It was a quiet morning inside the house. In the warm, sunny kitchen, baby monkey Lyka sat happily on a folded towel by the table. Her belly was full of milk, and her eyes were still a bit sleepy. She felt calm — as long as Mom was close.

But then, Mom got up.

She walked just a few steps away to the kitchen counter, opening a drawer and starting to prepare food. That’s when Lyka noticed.

Mom wasn’t touching her anymore.
Mom wasn’t looking at her anymore.

And that was unacceptable.

Within seconds, Lyka let out a dramatic squeal. “EEEEEHHHH!!” Her tiny arms waved wildly, and she threw herself backward with an exaggerated flop. Her feet kicked against the towel. She was crying so loudly, you’d think someone had stolen all her bananas!

Mom turned around, surprised. “Lyka! I just went to the counter, silly girl!”

But the tears didn’t stop. Lyka crawled forward with desperation in her eyes, reaching up from the floor like she was in a movie scene. The moment Mom picked her up, the crying stopped immediately. She clung to Mom’s shirt and peeked over her shoulder at the kitchen like it had betrayed her.

Mom sighed with a loving smile and gave Lyka a peeled slice of banana.

That was all it took.

Lyka munched happily in Mom’s arms now, tail wrapped around her wrist. Crisis averted. Drama complete.

Even in the safety of home, with warm food and gentle care, Lyka just couldn’t handle one moment alone.

But that’s what makes her so sweet — her heart is big, and her love is loud.
