Chamroeun, the playful baby monkey, loved two things more than anything—snacks and freedom. But lately, every time he had a tasty treat in hand, one very nosey chicken had other plans.
At first, it was funny. The chicken would waddle over, pecking at the ground, pretending not to notice Chamroeun. But the moment he pulled out a banana or biscuit, bam!—there she was, right behind him like a feathered stalker.
“No! Go away!” Chamroeun would squeak, running in circles. But the chicken just kept following him, flapping her wings and eyeing his snack like it was a golden treasure.
It didn’t matter where he went—under the bench, up the stairs, or behind the flower pots—the chicken was always one step behind, clucking and chasing. Chamroeun started to dread snack time. He couldn’t even peel a banana in peace!
One day, after a dramatic chase around the yard, Chamroeun stomped his feet and shouted in monkey-speak: “I hate that chicken!”
But Mom just laughed. “She’s not being mean, sweetie. She just thinks you’re the snack king!”
Still grumbling, Chamroeun climbed up a tree with his food and stuck out his tongue at the chicken below. She clucked in protest, fluffed her feathers, and eventually gave up—for now.
Chamroeun finally munched in peace, proud of his escape.
But deep down, he knew… tomorrow, she’d be back. Because when you’re a monkey with food, the chicken’s never far behind. 🐒🍗😂
