Jasmine’s Peaceful Nap in the Basket

After a morning full of play and adventure, baby monkey Jasmine was finally tired. Her little limbs drooped, her eyes blinked slowly, and soft yawns escaped her tiny mouth.

The caregivers knew it was nap time.

They placed a warm, soft blanket in her favorite woven basket—the one with the cozy corner she always curled into. As soon as Jasmine felt the familiar fabric, she sighed softly and curled into a tiny ball, her arms hugging her own chest.

Outside, the world was still moving—birds chirped, leaves rustled—but inside the basket, there was only peace.

Her tiny chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm. A light twitch of her fingers, a flicker of her tail, and then stillness again. Every now and then, she made a soft sleeping noise, like a hum, as if she were dreaming sweet little monkey dreams.

A caretaker quietly peeked in and smiled. Jasmine looked like an angel—so small, so pure, wrapped in comfort and safety.

Even other monkeys nearby seemed to sense the peace. They didn’t disturb her, respecting her quiet nap. The basket rocked just a little as she shifted slightly, then settled into stillness again.
