The morning started off like any other in the monkey family home. Rio was busy climbing on a low tree branch, proudly showing off his skills while keeping one eye on the ground below. That’s when he spotted something that made his little heart burn with jealousy—Mom was gently hugging Jasmine, stroking her soft fur and whispering in her ear.
Rio froze.
His grip tightened around the branch as his eyes locked on the cozy moment. Jasmine’s face was full of joy as she cuddled into Mom’s chest, enjoying every second of affection. Rio, on the other hand, felt something twist inside.
“Why not me?” he seemed to think.
Without hesitation, he dropped down from the branch and marched straight over, tail twitching and tiny brows furrowed. He plopped himself right beside them, letting out a loud squeaky grunt as if to say, “I’m here too!”
Mom turned her head, surprised by Rio’s sudden arrival. She giggled softly, realizing the little guy was feeling left out. Jasmine glanced at him with a cheeky smile, clearly enjoying being the center of attention.
But Rio didn’t want to wait—he squeezed between them, nudging Jasmine with his shoulder until she scooted slightly away. Then, he pushed his head into Mom’s chest, demanding cuddles of his own.
Mom chuckled and gave him a loving squeeze, wrapping both arms around her two babies. Jasmine let out a playful squeak and rested her head on Rio’s shoulder. Though still a bit pouty, Rio’s jealous heart began to soften.
Soon, the three of them were snuggled close, a warm and peaceful moment shared between a loving mother and her two adorable baby monkeys—one of them just needing a little extra love today.
