Jasmine, the cheeky little baby monkey, was up to her usual playful tricks again. She had just finished rolling around in a cozy blanket and decided it was time for some mischief. Mom, who had been quietly folding clothes nearby, suddenly noticed Jasmine peeking at her from behind the curtain with only her wide, sparkling eyes visible.
Without saying a word, Mom slowly turned her head and gave Jasmine the look—those big, round mom-eyes that said, “I’m watching you, young lady!”
Jasmine froze like a statue.
Then, like a balloon about to pop from holding in laughter, Jasmine burst into the biggest, goofiest smile anyone had ever seen! Her tiny teeth showed, her nose scrunched up, and her eyes twinkled with pure silliness. It was as if Mom’s big stare had hit the tickle button in her brain!
Mom couldn’t help but giggle. She kept staring, trying to stay serious, but Jasmine’s face only got funnier—she stuck out her tongue, wiggled her ears, and even did a slow-motion head bob as if to say, “You can’t stay mad at this face!”
The whole room filled with laughter. Jasmine started hopping in tiny circles, proud of herself for cracking Mom’s serious look. She ran over and hugged Mom’s leg tightly, still smiling like she’d just won a comedy show.
Mom picked her up, gave her a little nuzzle on the nose, and whispered, “You little silly sunshine.”
Jasmine snuggled in, proud and happy. Her heart may have been full of monkey mischief, but it was also full of love.
