The soft cries echoed from deep within the hollow of an old palm tree. A tiny baby monkey, no bigger than a human hand, was trapped inside. His small body shivered, and his wide, frightened eyes peeked out, searching for help.
A group of kind rescuers gathered around the tree. They had heard the baby’s desperate cries and knew they had to act quickly. The hole was deep, and the little monkey was too weak to climb out on his own. His tiny fingers clung to the rough bark, but every time he tried to pull himself up, he slipped back down.
One of the rescuers carefully reached into the hole, but the baby monkey shrank back in fear. He didn’t understand that they were trying to help. His little cries became louder, his tiny body shaking.
“We need to be gentle,” one of the rescuers said softly. Slowly, they lowered a small towel into the hole, hoping the baby would grab onto it. But he was too weak, too scared.
Seeing this, another rescuer decided to try a different way. He took a soft banana and placed it near the opening. The baby monkey sniffed the sweet scent and slowly reached for it. As he moved closer, the rescuer gently scooped him up with careful hands.
The little monkey trembled, his big eyes darting around in confusion. But as he felt the warmth of his rescuer’s hand, his tiny body relaxed. He was safe.
Wrapped in a soft cloth, he was given warm milk to drink. Slowly, his frightened whimpers faded. His belly full, he clung tightly to his rescuer’s arm, no longer afraid.
He had been saved, and soon, he would find a new, loving home.
