The afternoon sun shimmered on the water as Dad stepped into the cool river, calling out to his little monkey, Bobo. The playful monkey hesitated on the riverbank, his tiny hands gripping a low-hanging branch. His eyes widened at the sight of the rippling water, unsure if he really wanted to go in.
“Come on, Bobo! It’s just like a fun bath,” Dad encouraged, splashing the water lightly.
Bobo tilted his head, watching with curiosity. He dipped one finger in, then quickly pulled it back. The water was cooler than he expected! But seeing Dad laughing and waiting for him, he gathered his courage. With a little squeak, Bobo leaped from the branch—splash!—right into Dad’s arms.
The little monkey clung tightly at first, wrapping his arms around Dad’s neck. But as he felt the gentle movement of the water, his fear faded. Dad held him securely, letting him float just a little. Bobo blinked in surprise—this wasn’t scary at all! It was actually fun!
Soon, he began paddling his tiny arms, splashing around excitedly. “That’s it, Bobo! You’re swimming!” Dad cheered.
Bobo let out a happy squeal, kicking his legs as he moved through the water. He felt so light, so free! He even tried dunking his face under for a second before quickly popping back up, shaking his head with a funny expression.
After a while, Dad carried him back to the shore, wrapping him in a warm towel. Bobo snuggled close, tired but happy. His first swimming lesson was a success! Next time, he would be even braver.
