The sun had begun its slow descent, casting an orange glow across the quiet yard. Little A Tong, a playful baby monkey, had wandered off earlier, exploring the scattered leaves and twigs. But now, the moment he realized his mom was no longer in sight, his heart pounded with urgency.
He took one small step, then another—his tiny feet unsure yet determined. His arms wobbled as he balanced himself, his little tail twitching. His eyes darted around, searching for the familiar warmth of his mother. Panic flickered in his innocent gaze, but he didn’t cry. Instead, he pressed forward, walking step by step, determined to get back to her.
A Tong’s tiny body moved in an awkward rhythm, sometimes swaying as he quickened his pace. His little mouth pouted in concentration, and his breath came in small huffs. The soft ground beneath him was uneven, and once, he stumbled slightly, but he quickly steadied himself. He had only one goal—his mother.
As he finally spotted her sitting near the porch, his heart swelled with relief. With newfound energy, he rushed the last few steps, his tiny legs working as fast as they could. The moment he reached her, he let out a soft whimper and grabbed onto her arm, pressing his small face against her.
His mother chuckled, wrapping her arms around him, gently stroking his tiny back. “Oh, my brave little one,” she whispered.
Safe in her embrace, A Tong sighed, finally at ease. His little adventure had ended, and he was exactly where he wanted to be—right in his mother’s arms.
