The afternoon breeze swayed the leaves gently, and the sun cast warm golden rays across the yard. It was time for Max’s nap, but the little baby monkey had other plans. His mother, knowing his routine, gently placed him on a soft cloth on the wooden bed before stepping away to prepare his spot for a peaceful nap.
As soon as her back turned, Max’s tiny face twisted in frustration. His big round eyes followed her every move, and within seconds, he let out an ear-piercing scream. “Eeeek! Eeeeek!” His tiny hands reached out desperately, his legs kicking in protest. His mother turned around, sighing with a knowing smile.
Max wasn’t just crying—he was throwing a full tantrum. He rolled onto his side, then onto his back, shaking his little body as if his world was ending. He didn’t want his mommy to leave, not even for a second! His loud wails echoed through the house, his little face scrunched up in pure, stubborn determination.
His mother chuckled softly and walked back to him, sitting beside him on the bed. “Oh, my little Max,” she cooed, stroking his tiny head. He immediately grabbed onto her arm, clinging tightly as if afraid she would vanish.
Knowing there was no way he’d let go, his mom picked him up and cradled him in her arms. Within minutes, his sobs softened into hiccups, and his tiny body relaxed against her. His hands loosened their grip, his breathing became steady, and his eyelids grew heavy.
As his mother hummed softly, Max finally drifted into sleep, his tantrum forgotten. She smiled, gently kissing his tiny forehead, thinking to herself—her little boy might be stubborn, but he was also the sweetest.
