The sun was shining brightly in the open field as the man walked around, searching for ripe fruit. He knew that the little monkey, Lion, was hungry and needed something sweet and juicy to enjoy. However, he couldn’t take Lion with him through the thick bushes, so he gently placed the tiny monkey under a shady tree and patted his head.
“Wait here for just a minute, Lion. I’ll bring you something delicious,” the man said with a warm smile.
Lion, with his big curious eyes, watched as his caretaker disappeared among the trees. At first, he sat patiently, his tiny hands gripping a low-hanging branch. But as the minutes passed, he started to feel restless. He stood up, looking around, his little tail twitching.
His ears perked up at the sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the wind. He tilted his head, wondering if his caretaker would return soon. A butterfly fluttered past him, and Lion reached out, trying to catch it, but it flew away too quickly. He sighed and sat back down, hugging his tiny legs.
Then, a sudden noise in the bushes made him freeze. His heart pounded—was it his caretaker coming back? But no, it was just a squirrel darting by, carrying a nut in its mouth. Lion pouted, feeling a little lonely.
Just as he was about to let out a small whimper, he heard footsteps. His face lit up with joy. The man returned, holding a handful of fresh fruit. “See? I told you I wouldn’t take long!” he said, handing Lion a juicy piece of banana.
Lion squealed happily, munching away as he hugged the man’s arm. Waiting had been tough, but the reward was worth it.
