Little Dobi Screaming in His Basket While Waiting for His Mom to Bathe Him

Little Dobi was having a very difficult morning. The tiny baby monkey was sitting inside his little basket, wrapped in a soft blanket, while his mother prepared everything for his bath. But Dobi had absolutely no patience. He wanted his mother beside him, and he wanted her immediately!

“Eeee! Eeee! Eeee!” he cried, lifting his tiny hands toward the doorway. His little mouth opened wide with every scream, and his eyes followed every movement around him. He looked from one side of the basket to the other, hoping his mother would suddenly appear.

His mother was only a short distance away, preparing clean towels and checking the water. She heard every cry, but she needed a moment to make sure everything was ready. Dobi, however, seemed convinced that she had disappeared forever.

He grabbed the edge of his blanket and pulled it toward his chest. Then he stood up on his little legs, wobbled, and sat down again. Another loud cry escaped his mouth.

“Don’t worry, little one. Mommy is right here,” his mother gently called.

The moment Dobi recognized her voice, he stopped for a second. His ears seemed to perk up, and he turned toward the sound. But when she didn’t immediately come back, he started calling again.

His mother returned to the basket and crouched beside him. Dobi reached both arms toward her, making tiny impatient noises. She gently checked his body, making sure he was warm and comfortable. Then she offered him her finger.

Dobi wrapped his little hand around it tightly.

For a moment, he became quiet. He looked up at her face as if he wanted to ask why she had taken so long. His mother smiled and softly stroked his head. His frightened expression slowly changed into a calmer one.

Before preparing his bath, she made sure the room was warm and free from cold drafts. She checked the water carefully and made sure it was not too hot. Because Dobi was still very young, she would only bathe him when necessary and follow advice from an experienced primate caregiver or veterinarian.

But Dobi had another plan.

As soon as his mother moved her hand away, he began making little squeaking sounds again. He stretched his arms toward her and leaned forward, trying to follow her. His tiny fingers held the blanket as he watched her every move.

His mother couldn’t help smiling. “You’re such an impatient little baby,” she whispered.

She stayed close, speaking softly to reassure him. Dobi finally settled down, although he continued watching her with suspicious little eyes. Every time she moved, his head turned in the same direction.

When everything was ready, his mother gently lifted him from the basket and held him securely against her. Dobi immediately tucked himself close to her body. His screaming stopped, replaced by quiet little sounds.

After checking that he was comfortable and that bathing was appropriate, she gently cleaned him without rushing. She kept him supported throughout and made sure he did not become cold. Dobi looked surprised at first, but his mother’s familiar touch helped him remain calm.

When she finished, she wrapped him in a soft, warm towel and carefully dried him. His tiny face appeared above the towel, and he blinked sleepily at the room.

For the first time that morning, Dobi seemed completely satisfied.

His mother carried him back to his comfortable resting place and stayed beside him. He reached for her hand again, holding one finger with his tiny fingers. His eyes slowly became heavy, but he refused to let go.

A few minutes later, Dobi was resting quietly, surrounded by warmth and familiar sounds. The little baby who had screamed so loudly only moments earlier was now peaceful.

His mother gently touched his head and watched him fall asleep.

Dobi had spent the morning calling for his mommy, but what he really wanted was simple: to feel safe, loved, and close to the one he trusted most.

And as he drifted into sleep, his little hand remained wrapped around her finger. ❤️
