The morning had barely begun when little Titas woke up in a very unhappy mood.
He sat on a soft blanket and immediately looked around for Mom.
She was nearby, busy preparing his clean clothes and getting everything ready for the morning.
Titas watched her carefully.
Then he stretched both tiny arms toward her.
He wanted a cuddle.
Mom smiled at him.
“Just a moment, sweetheart. Mommy is almost finished.”
But Titas didn’t want to wait.
His tiny lips began to tremble.
“Mama…”
Mom continued with what she was doing.
Suddenly, Titas let out a huge scream.
“WAAAAAAH!”
His little face became red with frustration.
He waved both arms and kicked his tiny feet against the soft blanket.
Mom turned around in surprise.
“Oh, Titas!”
He screamed again, staring directly at her as if trying to make his message perfectly clear.
He wanted Mommy’s arms.
He didn’t want a toy.
He didn’t want to wait.
He wanted a cuddle right now.
Dad heard the loud cries and walked into the room.
“Someone is definitely asking for extra attention this morning.”
Titas looked at Dad for a moment, but quickly turned his eyes back toward Mom.
His little arms stretched toward her again.
Mom finally finished what she was doing and knelt beside him.
“I’m sorry, my little boy.”
She gently held out her arms.
Titas immediately reached for her.
Mom carefully picked him up and held him close against her chest.
The transformation was almost instant.
His screaming became soft little sobs.
His tiny hands wrapped tightly around Mom’s shirt.
Mom gently rubbed his back.
“There you are.”
“You just wanted Mommy to hold you.”
Titas buried his face against her shoulder.
His little body slowly relaxed as he listened to her heartbeat.
Mom kissed the top of his head.
“You don’t have to scream so loudly, sweetheart. Mommy will always make time for a cuddle.”
Dad smiled.
“I think that was his way of making sure you couldn’t ignore him.”
Mom laughed softly.
“He’s very determined.”
After a few minutes, Titas lifted his head and looked at Mom with watery eyes.
She gently wiped his cheeks.
“Are you feeling better now?”
Titas gave a tiny happy squeak.
Mom smiled and continued rocking him.
Soon, she prepared his warm bottle while keeping him safely nestled in her arms.
Titas drank peacefully, occasionally looking up at Mom as if checking that she was still there.
When the bottle was empty, he gave a tiny satisfied sigh.
His earlier anger had completely disappeared.
He rested his sleepy head against Mom’s shoulder.
Mom whispered, “Even when Mommy is busy, you are always loved.”
Titas closed his eyes.
Within minutes, he drifted peacefully to sleep in her warm embrace.
Dad quietly watched them and smiled.
The room that had been filled with loud screams only moments earlier was now completely peaceful.
For little Titas, the biggest problem of the morning had never been the toys or the chores.
He simply wanted to feel close to Mom.
And once he was safely wrapped in her loving arms, everything in his tiny world felt right again.
