The room was quiet when little Max suddenly woke up from his nap.

He slowly opened his sleepy eyes and looked around.

Something was missing.

Mom.

Max sat up on the soft floor and looked toward the doorway.

Maybe Mom was nearby.

He waited.

Nothing.

His tiny lips began to tremble.

“Mama…”

Only a weak little sound came out.

Max looked behind his blanket, then beside his favorite toy.

Still no Mom.

His worried expression quickly turned into sadness.

A tiny tear rolled down his fluffy cheek.

Then he began to cry.

“WAAAAAH!”

His little voice echoed through the room.

Max crawled across the soft floor, looking from one side to another.

He wanted to find Mom.

He called again.

“Mama! Mama!”

But there was no answer yet.

His cries became louder and more emotional.

He stretched both tiny arms toward the doorway and let out a long, heartbreaking moan.

“Waaaah… Mama…”

Dad heard him from the next room and quickly came over.

“Oh, little Max. Are you looking for Mommy?”

Dad gently sat beside him and stroked his back.

But Max wasn’t interested in toys or games.

He kept staring toward the doorway.

He wanted Mom.

Just then, Mom heard his cries from the kitchen.

“My baby!”

She immediately hurried back into the room.

The moment Max saw her, his crying became even louder.

He stretched both arms toward her.

Mom gently picked him up and held him close.

“Oh, my poor little boy. Mommy is here.”

Max buried his face against her shoulder.

His loud cries slowly became quiet sniffles.

Mom softly rubbed his back and kissed his forehead.

“I only stepped away for a little while, sweetheart.”

Max held onto her shirt tightly, as if he never wanted her to leave again.

Dad smiled.

“He searched the whole room for you.”

Mom hugged him even closer.

“Sometimes little babies just need to know Mommy is near.”

After a few minutes, Max finally relaxed.

Mom offered him his warm bottle while continuing to cuddle him.

He drank peacefully, his tiny fingers still holding onto her shirt.

With every sip, his sadness disappeared.

Soon, his eyelids became heavy.

Mom gently rocked him while whispering,

“You can always call for me, my precious boy.”

Max gave one tiny sleepy squeak.

Then he rested his head against Mom’s chest and drifted peacefully to sleep.

The lonely cries that had filled the room were gone.

All that remained was the soft sound of his breathing and Mom’s gentle voice.

For little Max, finding Mommy was more important than anything else.

And once he was safely back in her loving arms, the whole world felt peaceful again.
