The afternoon was peaceful until a tiny voice suddenly echoed through the room.

“Mama! Mama!”

Little Selena was sitting on a soft towel on the table, looking extremely unhappy.

Mom had placed her there for just a moment while preparing a fresh diaper and warm milk nearby.

But Selena didn’t like being left alone.

She looked around.

No Mom beside her.

Her tiny eyebrows tightened.

Her lips began to tremble.

Then she shouted again.

“MAMAAA!”

Her little hands waved impatiently through the air as she stared toward the doorway.

Mom heard her immediately.

“I’m right here, sweetheart!”

But Selena wasn’t satisfied.

She wanted Mom now.

Her little face became even moodier as she called again and again.

“Mama! Mama!”

Dad walked into the room and tried to make her smile with her favorite toy.

Selena glanced at it for half a second before turning away.

She didn’t want the toy.

She wanted Mom.

Dad laughed softly.

“Someone is definitely having a Mommy-only moment today.”

Selena answered with another loud squeak.

Mom finally finished what she was doing and walked over.

“There you are, my little grumpy girl.”

The instant Selena saw her, she stretched both tiny arms forward.

Mom carefully lifted her from the table and held her close.

Selena immediately buried her face against Mom’s shoulder.

Her loud shouting became soft little sniffles.

Mom gently rubbed her back.

“Did you miss Mommy that much?”

Selena tightened her little grip on Mom’s shirt.

Mom smiled and kissed her forehead.

“I’m not going anywhere.”

After a few minutes of cuddling, Selena’s mood completely changed.

She looked up at Mom with bright eyes and gave a tiny happy squeak.

Dad smiled.

“That was quite a performance.”

Mom laughed.

“Sometimes my little girl just needs extra attention.”

She gently rocked Selena in her arms before giving her a warm bottle.

Selena drank peacefully, finally feeling calm and safe.

When her tummy was full, she rested her sleepy head against Mom’s chest.

The dramatic shouting was forgotten.

Mom softly whispered, “Whenever you call, I’ll come when I can. You’re always loved.”

Selena closed her eyes and drifted peacefully to sleep, safely wrapped in the warmth of Mom’s loving embrace.
