The morning sunshine spread across the backyard as little Ronaldo sat quietly on a soft towel beside the small bathing tub.
Unlike his usual energetic self, today he looked especially calm.
His tiny hands rested on his knees while his bright eyes stayed fixed on the doorway, waiting for Mom to return.
Mom had stepped inside for only a moment to bring a clean diaper, a fluffy towel, and fresh clothes.
The warm bathwater was already prepared, sending gentle steam into the cool morning air.
Ronaldo looked toward the tub.
Then back at the door.
He let out a tiny, gentle sound.
“Mmm… mmm…”
It wasn’t a loud cry.
It was a soft little moan, almost as if he were politely asking,
“Mom… are you coming?”
He waited another few seconds.
Still no Mom.
He looked down at his tiny feet and softly rubbed them together.
The morning breeze felt a little cool.
Again he called in his sweet little voice.
“Mmm… Mama…”
Dad heard the tiny sound and smiled from across the yard.
“Our little Ronaldo is asking for his warm bath.”
Ronaldo looked toward Dad, but his eyes quickly returned to the doorway.
He wanted Mom.
Only Mom knew exactly how warm he liked the water.
Only Mom wrapped him in the soft towel the special way that made him feel cozy and safe.
A few moments later, Mom hurried back outside carrying everything she needed.
“There you are, my sweet boy!”
The instant Ronaldo saw her, his worried little face brightened.
He clapped his tiny hands and gave the happiest little squeak.
Mom knelt beside him and gently stroked his fluffy head.
“Thank you for waiting so patiently.”
Ronaldo leaned against her leg as if saying he had been waiting forever.
Mom laughed softly.
“I know, sweetheart. Let’s get you nice and warm.”
She carefully lifted him into her arms and slowly lowered his tiny feet into the warm water.
This time, Ronaldo didn’t fuss.
The comforting warmth made him smile immediately.
He happily splashed the water with one little hand, sending tiny droplets sparkling in the morning sunlight.
Mom gently washed his little hands, tiny feet, and soft fur while humming his favorite lullaby.
Ronaldo listened quietly, completely relaxed.
Every now and then, he looked up at Mom with bright eyes and gave another tiny, happy moan.
Dad smiled.
“I think that’s his way of saying thank you.”
After the bath, Mom wrapped Ronaldo in a thick, fluffy towel and held him close.
His tiny body felt warm and comfortable again.
She gently dried his soft fur before dressing him in clean clothes.
Then came his favorite part.
A warm bottle of milk.
Ronaldo eagerly drank every sip while snuggled safely in Mom’s arms.
His full tummy made his eyelids grow heavy.
He rested his little head on Mom’s shoulder and let out one final sleepy sigh.
Mom kissed his forehead.
“My patient little boy, you always melt my heart.”
Within minutes, Ronaldo drifted peacefully to sleep, surrounded by warmth, gentle care, and endless love.
Dad quietly covered him with a soft blanket and smiled.
Sometimes the sweetest moments aren’t filled with loud laughter or exciting adventures.
Sometimes they’re found in a tiny voice softly calling for Mom, a warm bath prepared with love, and the comforting promise that someone special will always come when they’re needed.
And for little Ronaldo, there was no greater happiness than knowing Mommy’s loving arms were never far away.
