Tiny Bunny’s Heartbreak on the Cold Floor

Comments Off on Tiny Bunny’s Heartbreak on the Cold Floor

Little Bunny sat on the cool floor, frozen in shock as daddy walked away. Her soft paws trembled, ears drooping low, eyes wide with confusion. Just moments ago she was warm in his arms, listening to his heartbeat, feeling safe. Now the room felt too big, too loud, and far too lonely.

Daddy moved quickly, busy with housework, unaware of the tiny heart breaking behind him. The broom scraped. Dishes clinked. Each sound made Bunny flinch. She tried to hop toward him, but her legs felt weak. Instead, she sat down hard and let out a small, broken cry.

It wasn’t anger that filled her chest. It was sadness. She didn’t understand why the arms she trusted had placed her down and disappeared. Her nose twitched rapidly as tears gathered, sliding down her fluffy cheeks. She pressed her belly to the floor, hoping the cold might hold her the way daddy did.

Bunny called again, louder this time. A soft, pleading sound that said everything she couldn’t explain. Please don’t forget me. Please pick me up. Her ears flattened as footsteps passed by without stopping. That hurt more than the floor.

Finally, daddy turned. He saw her. Really saw her. The tiny body shaking. The eyes shining with tears. Guilt washed over his face instantly. He dropped what he was doing and knelt down.

The moment his hands touched her, Bunny melted. She climbed into his arms, clinging tightly, afraid he might leave again. Her cries faded into quiet sniffs as warmth returned. The room felt safe once more.

Daddy held her close, whispering softly, promising without words that she mattered more than chores.

Bunny rested her head against his chest, trusting again. Sometimes, little hearts don’t need much. They just need to know they won’t be left behind again.
