Injured but Curious: An Orphan’s Brave Eyes

The orphan baby monkey arrived at his new home with a small injury on his face, still red and tender. The wound made him look fragile, but his eyes told a different story. They were wide, alert, and full of curiosity. Even after everything he had been through, his spirit had not given up.

He sat quietly at first, one tiny hand touching his sore cheek, as if reminding himself it was still there. The pain lingered, but it did not stop him from looking around. The room was strange and unfamiliar. New smells filled the air. New sounds echoed softly. Instead of fear, curiosity pulled him forward.

He stood up slowly and took a few careful steps. His movements were cautious, but determined. He peeked behind a chair, then looked up at the wall, tilting his head as if asking questions no one could hear. Every object became something to study. A blanket. A bowl. A shadow moving across the floor.

Mom watched closely, ready to help if he stumbled. She cleaned his face injury gently, her touch light and patient. He flinched once, then relaxed, trusting her hands. When she finished, he looked at her with calm eyes, as if saying thank you in the only way he could.

The baby explored again, this time a little braver. He climbed onto a soft mat and sat there proudly, touching his face less now. The pain was still part of him, but it no longer controlled him. Hunger came and went, but feeding was slow and careful. Healing took time.

At night, he curled up to sleep, face resting on his arm. The injury would heal. Scars might remain. But his curiosity was already stronger than his fear.

Being an orphan had taken his past. Injury had tested his body. Yet in this new home, his curiosity showed his future. He was hurt, but hopeful. Weak, but brave. And with gentle care, this curious little monkey would grow—not just healed, but whole again, one discovery at a time.
