Max Turns Away in Anger

Comments Off on Max Turns Away in Anger

Max sat stiffly with his back toward Mom, tiny shoulders raised, tail flicking with attitude. He refused to look at her, refused to move, refused even the gentle call of his name. Just moments before, Mom tried to pick him up, but Max — stubborn and fiery — pushed away and sat back down sharply like a little boss declaring war.

His body was cool and rigid, showing every bit of his displeasure. He didn’t shout or throw tantrums like some babies do — instead, he used silence as his protest. He sat backward, refusing to give Mom even a single glance, like a child saying “I’m mad! Don’t touch me!”

Mom slowly stepped closer, speaking softly, hoping he would calm down. But Max stayed frozen like a tiny stone statue. Inside, though, his little heart beat fast — a mix of anger, pride, and a bit of sadness. He wanted comfort, wanted hugs… but he was too upset to accept them.

Minutes passed. Mom didn’t force him. She simply sat nearby, waiting with patience and open arms. Slowly, Max peeked back, eyes softening. He shifted a little, pretending he wasn’t looking — but he was watching Mom the whole time. He wanted love, he just didn’t know how to ask after being upset.

Finally, with a tiny reluctant step, Max moved toward her — then another. Mom smiled gently, picked him up carefully, and Max let out a small sigh, melting into her chest. The anger faded, replaced with warmth and safety.

Even the strongest attitude ends with love when patience leads the way.
