Linda’s Scared Little Mistake

Comments Off on Linda’s Scared Little Mistake

Linda sat quietly on Mom’s lap, tail tucked, eyes wide and unsure. She could feel something was wrong — her stomach rumbled, her body uncomfortable. She didn’t know where to go or what to do, and before she could move… it happened. A small accident. Right on Mom’s lap.

The moment she realized, Linda froze. Her little face changed from calm to frightened confusion. She stared up at Mom with big glassy eyes, waiting — would Mom be angry? Her tiny hands gripped tighter, shoulders trembling as guilt washed over her. She didn’t mean to do anything wrong. She was just a baby still learning.

Mom looked down, surprised at first, then sighed softly. There was no shouting, no harsh hands — only a small disappointment in her eyes. Linda’s heart sank anyway. She bowed her head, ears low, afraid Mom might push her away. But instead, Mom gently lifted her up, wiped her clean, and spoke softly. Not happy, but not cruel.

Linda watched every movement carefully — her mind racing. Was she forgiven? When Mom returned, clean towel in hand, Linda reached out slowly, unsure but hopeful. Mom wrapped her, warm and safe, and Linda leaned onto her chest, relieved tears almost forming.

She learned something today — mistakes happen, and love is patient even when things go wrong.

Linda curled into Mom’s arms, still embarrassed, but comforted. Next time she will try her best. Not because she fears punishment… but because she loves Mom deeply.
