Baby monkey Lito was usually cheerful, bouncing around and playing with anything he could find. But when it came to bath time, everything changed. The moment he was placed gently into the little tub, Lito’s tiny hands splashed nervously, and then his face scrunched up. Within seconds, his loud cries echoed through the room.
He didn’t like the cool water touching his fur, and he especially didn’t like the slippery feeling under his feet. His little tail curled tightly as he tried to grab the edge of the tub for safety. The caretaker spoke softly, “It’s okay, Lito,” hoping to calm him down, but the baby monkey had already lost control of his emotions.
Lito threw his head back and screamed, tears mixing with the bathwater. His tiny chest rose and fell with each sob, as though the bath was the scariest thing he had ever faced. He kicked the water hard, sending splashes everywhere, soaking not only himself but also the person bathing him.
Yet, in the middle of his tantrum, there were moments of softness. When a warm cloth gently stroked across his back, Lito quieted for just a second, leaning into the touch before remembering he was still in the tub. Then the cries began again—loud, sharp, and pitiful, demanding to be rescued immediately.
Finally, after the quick wash was over, Lito was wrapped in a soft towel. His cries slowly faded as he buried his wet face against the warm fabric. With gentle rocking in his caretaker’s arms, he finally calmed down, sniffling softly.
Even though bath time was such a big challenge, Lito’s little tantrum only showed how sensitive and precious he truly was. His loud cries were just his way of saying—“I still need comfort and love.
